- Second-round TD-SCDMA trials are scheduled to commence in March 2007, on a larger scale than the first round. Mobile data and video transmission will be the focus of the second-run trials. Completion of pre-commercial network construction has also been planned for this phase. It is expected that China Mobile will play a dominant role in the ongoing expansion of TD-SCDMA trials.

- Datang has developed a new type of 3G USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module), which has been successfully sampled in TD-SCDMA field trials. Datang is ready to start mass production of the new product. Also, the company recently announced in Beijing a comprehensive line of commercial TD-SCDMA solutions. Datang also plans to unveil so-called TD-HSDPA network products in the near future.
